Hindrance
Hindrance is a feature film written by Shika Budhoo and Dhaveshan Govender and produced by Durban entertainment house Dizzy Dragonfly in association with Shika-Land! Productions.
Three school teachers from Durban are about to set out on the town when they get a call that "there's been an accident". They rush to the scene to help best they can and find themselves alone in a strange house, granny-sitting a catatonic old lady. When freaky stuff starts happening around the house the trio are left running and screaming for their lives. Hindrance is a pulse-racing horror thriller which leaves the viewers heart beating faster than ever, making you feeling more alive by each chill down the spine.
Hindrance stars local Durban talents and has a cast of 12 including Shika Budhoo and Mpume Mthombeni, with Clinton Marius; also starring Pauline Dalais, Mariam Bassa, Chante Govender and introducing Akira Ramnath with special guest appearances by award winning writer and actor Dhaveshan Govender and Living Legend Hamish Kyd.
Hindrance is Written, Directed and Produced by entertainment couple Shika Budhoo and Dhaveshan Govender. After the producers flat was accidentally gutted by fire on the last day of shoot of this movie, the hard drive containing the movie footage was salvaged and so the journey in rebuilding their lives has started with the help of friends, family and community. This film is their first project since the the fire and it is the phoenix that has risen out of the ashes.
